Between Earth and Heaven
Anosha Tarar
Located in Southgate, this community mosque is designed as a contemporary sacred space that explores the relationship between architecture, spirituality, and human emotion. The freeform geometry symbolises the state of the human mind when entering a religious environment, reflecting the transition from the complexities and turbulence of everyday life into a state of peace, reflection, and spiritual clarity. The structure is formed using a freeform steel frame clad with white GRC panels, chosen to evoke purity, holiness, and light. The design also draws inspiration from the highest heaven in Islam, where Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) is believed to meet the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), creating a symbolic connection between earth and the divine.
