Circus
WANTING WU
My final collection is inspired by the vibrant and whimsical world of the circus. I delved into key visual elements such as polka dots, stripes, and harlequin patterns that embody the kinetic energy and drama inherent in the circus aesthetic. To bring these patterns to life, I employed a variety of textile techniques, including heat transfer printing, laser cutting, and screen printing, to create richly layered and visually striking fabrics. I chose materials such as tulle, satin, and textured striped fabrics to enhance the contrast between sheer and lustre, structure and softness. Besides that created, I’ve accessories to be styled with my garments. For example using shimmering specialty fabrics and ironing on rhinestones to compliment the sparkle element throughout the collection, reflecting on the fantastical and performative nature of the circus.
