I Only Mark the Hours that Shine

The life of ‘Little Edie’ and her dilapidated mansion, Grey Gardens, in East Hampton NY, is the catalyst for designer Jessica Storey’s distinctive, haunted yet playful collection. By referencing 60s fashion and exploring the processes of decay, mutation and re-use, she reanimates a grand life fallen on hard times. She uses a mix of modern and hand-craft techniques — embroidery, hand casting, 3D printing and laser-cutting — creating an interplay between past and present, in garments of striking, performative vibrancy.
