"In Bloom" magazine is a vibrant celebration of Asian creativity, aiming to amplify the voices and stories of Asian artists. Rooted in representation, identity, and cultural pride, the magazine serves as both a platform and a safe space for emerging and established Asian talent to share their work and personal narratives.

This project was born from the need to challenge the underrepresentation and stereotyping of Asians in the creative industries. While Asian aesthetics are often admired and adopted, the actual voices behind them are frequently overlooked. In Bloom aims to change that by curating authentic, nuanced stories that explore what it means to be Asian in today’s creative landscape.

The first issue includes interviews, editorials, and essays on themes such as cultural reclamation, gatekeeping, and the blurred lines between representation and aestheticisation.

Danica Cortezano is a London-based Filipino creative. Her work explores storytelling, identity, and cultural representation, often inspired by her diasporic experience, indie cinema, nostalgic aesthetics, and Asian subcultures. She’s especially drawn to themes of belonging and memory, and is currently developing In Bloom a personal project she hopes to continue beyond university.
