Inspired by the work of the pioneering Romanian sculptor, Constantin Brancusi, designer llaria Puckett has carefully crafted her thoughtful, often seamless womenswear shapes through zero waste methods and innovative pattern cutting. Juxtaposing softness and rigidity, jersey versus canvas, she references Brancusi's abstracted shapes, particularly his 'stacked' sculptures and his refined use of colour. In addition to clever construction methods, llaria has utilised many unconventional materials, such as wood, tough canvas, curtain fabrics and secondhand upholstery.

Challenging the possibilities of functionality, llaria's accessories feature ingenious, wooden hinged bags and belts. Consciously seeking to reappropriate discarded and obsolete materials, laria pushes sustainability to new limits by using fabrics that may not have been previously considered appropriate for clothing. Her resourcefulness stretches to utilising found vintage 60s paper patterns, incorporating their simplified and structured shapes as part of her extensive development.
