Interwoven Stories From Nepal

Alisa Rai

"Interwoven Stories from Nepal" is a mixed womenswear and menswear collection inspired by the visual and oral traditions of the Nepalese people. The collection seeks to capture the essence of everyday life in Nepal through thoughtful use of fabric, form, and craftsmanship. Traditional techniques such as draping and pleating, commonly found in Nepalese garments have been reinterpreted within a contemporary framework. Weaving, a domestic craft deeply rooted in Nepali households, is intricately integrated throughout the collection. Garments are adorned with thousands of glass beads, symbolising the strength and grace of the women who wear them in their daily lives. At its core, this collection is a heartfelt exploration of cultural identity, celebrating handcraft, heritage, and sustainability.
