Rooted in the heart of British culture, my graduate collection celebrates the enduring tradition of the pub—a place where communities gather, stories unfold, and history lingers in every wooden panel and frothy pint. From barmaids in crisp aprons to the well-worn football shirts of loyal supporters, my designs blend nostalgia with modern reinterpretations of pub life. Rich textures, vintage-inspired prints, and nods to stained-glass windows, old paintings, and the ritual of pulling pints create a wardrobe that reflects the social fabric of England—past and present.

Ellis Howell is a soon to be fashion design graduate from West Yorkshire, inspired by English heritage, countryside traditions, and personal history. Her work draws from her grandparents’ 1970s pub, blending the textures and atmosphere of that era with nods to the Victorian period, when pubs became richly ornamental social hubs. Whitby, her “home away from home,” adds a coastal and nostalgic depth to her vision. Her current collection explores pub life through a modern lens, while upcoming work will reflect on childhood memories. Through thoughtful details and storytelling, she crafts garments that celebrate British identity, both past and present.
