Musical solace
Gabrielle Bellanfante
Musical solace features a small series of installations focusing on music. It features a video, a painting, and a record platform. Their mediums and dimensions range from wood with acrylic, measuring 69 by 70cm, to a painting utilising clay, measuring 42 by 32 cm. This series explores her interest in music, its production, and the memories it creates. Her influence stems from the early 2000s, when technology slowly became mainstream, black culture, and the Y2K aesthetic emerged. The highlights of her works include her playing music within the exhibition, which adds to the experience of the piece.
Gabrielle Bellanfante is currently completing a foundation in graphic design at the University of Westminster. Her specialism is in mixed media, gouache, and everyday items. Her main themes are music and nostalgia. Her future plans include expanding the scale of her work and creating more immersive pieces.
