Neo Tilbury - A New Intergenerational Micro-City

Ines McCallum

Neo Tilbury reimagines retirement living as an intergenerational micro-city centred around golf, wellness, and community. Set within the landscape of Tilbury Fort, the project combines housing, leisure, healthcare, and social infrastructure to encourage movement, connection, and active ageing through architecture.

Year 3 soon-to-graduate Part 1 Architecture student at the University of Westminster with a background in Business Management and a strong interest in socially responsive design. My work explores how architecture can support dignity, movement, and connection within elderly and intergenerational communities, challenging the idea that later-life living should be isolated or institutional. Through projects focused on wellness, landscape, and community engagement, I aim to create spaces that encourage active ageing, social interaction, and meaningful everyday experiences.
