Kun Luo
Remaining begins with what is already there. Worn garments are kept not for their beauty, but through habit and emotional attachment.
The collection explores a quiet coming-of-age through worn, second-hand garments and everyday dressing.
Rooted in observations of teenage street culture, it reflects a state between awkwardness, rebellion, and attachment, where clothing becomes a way of navigating and constructing identity.
Through material experimentation - from burnt knitwear and hand-dyeing that mimics sun-faded surfaces, to reconstructed denim and needle-punched wool, as well as tailoring made from weathered boat sail - garments carry visible traces of time and use.
By treating time as a collaborator rather than something to resist, the collection allows pieces to evolve naturally, embracing imperfection and continuity over constant replacement.
Kun Luo is a London-based menswear designer and a First Class BA (Hons) Fashion Design graduate from the University of Westminster. Having gained industry experience through internships at Stefan Cooke and Craig Green, his practice explores the relationship between clothing, time and emotional attachment. Believing that garments gain meaning through wear, memory and everyday experience, Kun views time as an essential part of a garment’s identity rather than something that diminishes it. His work combines material experimentation with thoughtful craftsmanship, creating contemporary menswear that celebrates authenticity, continuity, and the enduring emotional connection between people and the clothes they wear.
