Saints & Seabirds

Crafting my graduate fashion collection was a deeply personal journey back to the enchanting harbour town of St. Abbs, Scotland, a place that holds my heart and where my gran has resided since my childhood. Sponsored by Merrell Shoes, my collection is a fusion of nostalgia and modernity, inspired by the town’s maritime heritage and rugged coastal beauty.
The predominant hues of blue and yellow in the collection pay homage to the town’s vibrant atmosphere and busy harbour. Each piece tells a story—a cozy fair isle knit sweater reminiscent of fishermen’s attire and accessories echoing the hues of the gorse that blankets the cliffs.
Collaborating with Merrell Shoes added a practical yet stylish dimension, ensuring that each ensemble seamlessly transitions from coastal walks to urban adventures. This collaboration allowed me to infuse the collection with a sense of versatility and functionality, while staying true to the essence of St. Abbs.
From sketch to runway, this collection is more than just garments; it’s a love letter to a cherished place, a celebration of tradition, and a testament to the enduring inspiration found in the beauty of Scotland’s coastal landscapes.
