The Life of a Gardener

My inspiration for my final collection is “The Gardener”. I have gathered many inspiration from gardener’s workwear and incorporated it into my designs. For instance, the loop details in my garments derived from the loops found in overalls worn by gardener’s. It also allows my garment to have different ways of wearing it depending on how you hang and play around with it. Furthermore I played with the idea of using different shirt elements within my designs as shirts are considered a big part in gardener’s workwear so I wanted to put emphasis on it. Besides that, I also took inspiration from flowers by natural dyeing the fabrics in my collection. The tie dye effect that I chose to use was to replicate the perception of a flower blooming in spring. Lastly, in my green coat, I handmade a movable flower that opens and closes that simulates a flower blossoming in spring.
