TRACES
Tara Nour
TRACES explores coexistence, guidance and transformation through a contemporary interpretation of nomadic Turkic belief systems, examining the relationship between humanity, nature and the spiritual world.
Developed as an interdisciplinary digital fashion collection and film, TRACES combines physical craftsmanship with digital technologies through conceptual storytelling. Tara Nour created the textile surfaces using cyanotype, natural dyeing and devoré techniques, layering print screens with real herbs to imprint celestial and botanical forms directly into the fabric. Sculptural elements were developed through casting, resin and modelling before being 3D scanned and integrated into the digital garments, creating a dialogue between physical making and virtual design.
Drawing from nomadic traditions and the role of the Kam, the collection explores a worldview in which every element of nature possesses a spirit and healing is understood as the realignment of the soul. Guidance is sought through nature and the sky, shaping the visual language of the work. Light, stars, herbs, human forms, translucent materials, silver details and nomadic symbolism are brought together to express ideas of migration, connection, protection and inner balance.
