This project focuses on establishing a bespoke leather bag shop that champions sustainability and personal expression. Customers will have the chance to breathe new life into their existing bags through updates, personalisation, and repairs, reflecting both current trends and their individual tastes. Inspired by traditional sewists and cobbler shops, the mission is to celebrate British craftsmanship and encourage a shift in consumer attitudes toward repairing rather than discarding items. In a world where items are often replaced at the first sign of wear, this initiative seeks to promote the value of longevity and resourcefulness in fashion. With growing interest in smaller brands that emphasise quality and community, the shop will use social media platforms like Instagram to cultivate a vibrant community, fostering direct engagement and showcasing its unique character. Influenced by respected British brands such as Timpson and Coach, as well as the Burberry revival, the shop will draw aesthetic inspiration from East Coast fashion and a personal ethos rooted in caring for belongings. Growing up with the belief that a wardrobe should be an investment rather than disposable has heavily influenced this concept. By merging these elements, the bespoke leather bag shop aims to provide a unique retail experience, promoting a sustainable approach to fashion that honours craftsmanship and individual style while respecting traditional values.
